Ms Cristea, 19, was sentenced in London on Monday after she and her boyfriend Joel Osei, 26, were found guilty of murder in Croydon Court. Mr Osea and Ms Cristea were also found guilty of poisoning a second man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, with the same drug two days before Mr Murphy’s death. The couple, who had previously lived at Kerswell Close, Seven Sisters, north London, were both convicted of murder at Croydon Crown Court. That summer, Mr Osei and Ms Cristea poisoned Adrian Murphy, a 43-year-old Irish man, with an overdose of ‘devil’s breath’, or scopolamine, a date-rape drug from the deadly nightshade family.
